Homage to The Black Women of Brazil

I stopped by this black and white mural highlighted with a blue outline, of a black woman wearing a white turban. The solemn expression painted on her face isn’t the one of overt joy, the propaganda of Brazil’s samba dancers portraying a rainbow nation… There was a sense of melancholy, yet great strength in her face.

It got me thinking about the ‘other perspective’ of black woman in Rio and the inequality they face on a daily basis despite being the heart beat of this great nation… I shared my homage to the Black Women of Brazil, inspired by this mural, on my travel Instagram page CLICK HERE to read it.
